引言：咨询产业是适应社会信息化、科学化、现代化发展而兴起的现代产业,也是第三产业中发展势头最快的产业之一。现代咨询业的核心作用是提高人们决策和行为的科学化水平,对国家的经济发展和保持国际竞争优势等起着十分重要的作用。在目前的中国市场上,外资咨询公司占有垄断地位,要发展本土咨询业,有必要先了解国外咨询公司的发展特点和方向。经过几十年的发展,国外的管理咨询业已经成为一个发展迅速的知识型产业部门,被列为高层次知识产权中的重要领域,成立了很多具有很高水平和威望的咨询公司。美国75%的企业都要请教咨询公司,日本50%的企业要在咨询顾问的帮助下改善管理。市场的扩展带来收入的激增,60年代美国的管理咨询年收入为10亿美元,70年代增长到20亿美元,80年代达到50亿美元,至今已达到200亿美元。在西欧各国也呈现出稳定快速的增长。

目前全国各地有数百家咨询公司，有的只有几名雇员，也有十几家在短短几年内发展到约1000名雇员。相比之下，麦肯锡(McKinsey&Co)在全球拥有1.8万名雇员，其中在大中华区雇佣了500名研究员和咨询顾问。中国咨询行业诞生不到20年后，本土咨询公司即将面临一场洗牌，只有实力最强的公司才会幸存下来。各公司激烈争夺合同，却往往只能向客户提供肤浅的建议，这种情况对任何人及企业发展都不利。笔者整理部分咨询研究报告信息资料供参考：

咨询业，是对第三产业中以咨询服务为特点的各种行业的总称。作为一种智力密集型的知识服务性产业，咨询的现代意义是指来自个体和组织外部的专业化技能，它以专门的知识、信息、经验为资源，针对不同的用户需求，提供解决某一问题的方案或决策建议。咨询业的工作范围很广，内容极为丰富，也就是要为咨询行业规范建立分类基础这一目标，厘清咨询概念、明确容易误用的各个专业领域咨询概念的内涵，以咨询业务的内容和范围将咨询业务大致划分为类别，并分别给出定义解析。
